- 日本に5年以上継続して住んでいること。
- Nihon ni 5-nen ijō keizoku shite sunde iru koto.
- You must have lived in Japan for at least five consecutive years.
年齢要件 (Nenrei Yōken - Age Requirement)
- 20歳以上で、法律上の能力があること。
- Nijussai ijō de, hōritsujō no nōryoku ga aru koto.
- You must be at least 20 years old and legally competent.
素行要件 (Sokō Yōken - Good Conduct)
- 良好な素行を持ち、日本の法律を尊重していること。
- Ryōkō na sokō o mochi, Nihon no hōritsu o sonchō shite iru koto.
- You should have a record of good behavior and must respect Japanese laws.
生計要件 (Seikei Yōken - Financial Stability)
- 自己の生活を支える経済能力があること。
- Jiko no seikatsu o sasaeru keizai nōryoku ga aru koto.
- You must be able to support yourself financially.
国籍離脱要件 (Kokuseki Ridatsu Yōken - Renunciation of Other Nationalities)
- 他の国籍を放棄すること。
- Ta no kokuseki o hōki suru koto.
- You must renounce your current nationality upon acquiring Japanese citizenship.
日本語能力 (Nihongo Nōryoku - Knowledge of Japanese Language)
- 日常生活に必要な日本語の知識があること。
- Nichijō seikatsu ni hitsuyō na Nihongo no chishiki ga aru koto.
- You should have sufficient knowledge of the Japanese language for daily life.

- 住民票などの居住証明。

所得証明・納税証明 (Shotoku Shōmei / Nōzei Shōmei - Proof of Income and Tax Payments)
- 最近の税務書類と所得証明。

家族関係証明書 (Kazoku Kankei Shōmei-sho - Family Registration)
- 日本における家族関係の証明書。
